In my opinion, today is one of the best holidays of the year! March 23rd is National Puppy Day, a day that not only celebrates adorable puppies, but also encourages folks to consider puppy adoption. The website National Day Calendar reports:

"According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year. Some of these dogs come with litters of puppies. If you’re seeking a puppy to start your furry family, check the shelters first. When these abandoned and abused animals find their way to a shelter, each one needs a forever home and their potential is limitless."

We actually just had a couple of adoptable puppies in the studio last week for 'Furry Friday!' Dogs Forever in Cedar Rapids currently has a couple of litters that are looking for good homes.

Some of the suggested ways to celebrate National Puppy Day include taking your pup to the dog park, picking them up a special treat, or taking them on a walk. It's also noted that your dog doesn't have to be an actual puppy to participate in the holiday. All dogs are puppies at heart!

National Puppy Day is especially important in my household, because it's just a few days before Tater's "Gotcha Day." Back on March 27th of 2020, Tater moved into my house and became my permanent roommate/best friend. It was the very start of the pandemic, and I had no idea how lucky I was to find him when I did. He got me through a lot of lonely and uncertain times and I couldn't be more grateful! Maybe that's why he's so spoiled...

In honor of National Puppy Day and Tater's "Gotcha Day," I thought I would share a few video clips of him. He is a VERY vocal dog, which means he is constantly whining, grumbling, and scream-yawning. Sometimes it's incredibly irritating, like when I'm trying to work or watch something on TV, but most times it just makes me laugh. Enjoy!

Now we want to see some photos of YOUR pups for National Puppy Day! Leave them in the comments!
