A New List Has Named a Quad City-Style Pizza Place as the Best in Iowa

When it comes to pizza in Iowa, Quad City-style is the new champion!

Eat This, Not That has put together a list of the top pizza place in all 50 states, and their pick for Iowa is a Quad City classic: Harris Pizza!

Harris Pizza prides itself on being the home of "the original Quad City-style pizza." There are three different locations, all within the Quad Cities. There's one in Davenport, one in Bettendorf, and one in Rock Island, Illinois. If you're not familiar with Quad Cities-style pizza, here is what the article has to say about it:

"Unique among pizza styles, Quad City-style entails pizza with a malty crust, tomato sauce that's often spiced with the likes of chili flakes or cayenne, and toppings layered under the cheese. Finally, instead of triangular or square slices, pies are cut into elongated strips, making them entirely unique among pizza peers."

Harris gives customers the option to build their own pizza, but they also have a number of specialty pizzas on the menu. Some of the non-traditional pizzas on the menu include Chicken Bacon Ranch, BLT, Chicken Spinach Artichoke, German, Bar-B-Que, and Grecian.

A number of different restaurants have been recognized as having the "best" pizza in Iowa over the past several years, including Pagliai's Pizza (Iowa Starting Line), Lincoln Winebar (New York Times),  Zoey’s Pizzeria (Yelp), Adrianos Brick Oven (Love Food), and Great Plains Sauce and Dough Co. (Reader's Digest).
