Trick-or-Treat Forecast for Eastern Iowa: Will the Weather Cooperate?
There is nothing worse as a kid than coming up with a great Halloween costume, putting it on for trick or treating, and then having your Mom or Dad tell you to put a big, fat, winter coat on over it! But Mom....Chewbacca didn't wear a coat! Late October weather can be a bit unpredictable. Here is what kids and parents can expect on Friday night for Halloween!
Best Chance of Rain is Early This Week
Good news, trick-or-treaters! Our friends in the weather lab at KCRG report that the best chance of rain this week moves in late tonight and hangs around during the day on Tuesday. All the rain should be out of Eastern Iowa by early Wednesday.
Cool Fall Weather Ahead for Halloween
Highs this week are expected to stick around the mid-50s, with overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s, according to KCRG. Halloween night looks dry, with trick-or-treating temperatures in the 40s for Friday night. So maybe not a bulky winter coat, but I bet parents might want to throw a sweatshirt in, just in case things get too chilly!
How Does The Weather in Iowa Look in November?
NOAA issued its November outlook for the U.S. earlier this month. Iowa and most of the Midwest have an equal chance of above-average and below-average temperatures for the next 30 days. Although the map below shows above-average temperatures are just to our southwest.
Here's hoping for many more weeks of enjoyable fall weather because we all know what comes next!
