Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a new proclamation that adds a week to an emergency declaration for the state she announced last Tuesday, March 17. It had originally been scheduled to expire at the end of March but will now be in effect through Tuesday, April 7 at 11:59 p.m.

Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight (Thursday, March 26), the governor has ordered the closing of all of these businesses in the state:

  • Bookstores
  • Clothing stores
  • Cosmetic, beauty, or perfume stores
  • Florists
  • Furniture and home furnishing stores
  • Jewelry stores
  • Luggage stores
  • Shoe stores
