Governor Reynolds Extends Emergency Declaration, Orders More Iowa Business Closings
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a new proclamation that adds a week to an emergency declaration for the state she announced last Tuesday, March 17. It had originally been scheduled to expire at the end of March but will now be in effect through Tuesday, April 7 at 11:59 p.m.
In addition to keeping everything from fitness centers to restaurants (dine-in) and bars closed, the governor has also added a variety of other business types to those that must close.
Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight (Thursday, March 26), the governor has ordered the closing of all of these businesses in the state:
- Bookstores
- Clothing stores
- Cosmetic, beauty, or perfume stores
- Florists
- Furniture and home furnishing stores
- Jewelry stores
- Luggage stores
- Shoe stores
