The Corridor Business Journal is reporting that retail chain Gordmans will close its Cedar Rapids and Coralville locations this spring.

Clearance sales are reportedly underway and going out of business signs displayed at each location. They are among dozens of midwest locations closing, including Sioux City and Des Moines. Coralville employees have reportedly been notified that their store will close as of May 30.

When Gordmans initially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017, the corridor stores were able to remain open. Three years later, the news is not so good. Gordmans is based on Omaha and owned by Stage Stores.

Gordmans was a popular destination for a variety of apparel items and footwear for men, women, and children, as well as accessories, home décor, gifts, designer fragrances, fashion jewelry, bedding and bath, accent furniture and toys.
