Former Iowa School Now A Million Dollar Home For Sale [GALLERY]
I'm not sure that while I was growing up and going to elementary school in a huge multi-story brick building, if I ever thought to myself, "I sure wish I could LIVE here someday!" But then again the school I went to didn't look anything like this amazing home for sale near Nevada, Iowa.
Built in 1923, the home for sale used to be the Milford School. The Ames Tribune reports that the fully renovated home sits on three acres of land just north of Ames. Once a school that held hundreds of students, the building is now known as the 'Prairie Castle.' The listing from Iowa Realty states that the fully renovated all-brick building features 360-degree views of the Iowa landscape. You want living space? How about 22,000 square feet with an additional 5,800 square feet of shop space? Plus, you can enjoy four bedrooms, five bathrooms, two full kitchens, and three morning kitchens!
Iowa Realty also states that the home features new lighting, fireplaces, and appliances. The home even has a three-stop elevator for easy access to all your new rooms! Not bad for a building that is 100 years old this year!
So what is the asking price for a former school turned into a 'Prairie Castle?' Iowa Realty lists the property for sale at $1.75 million. For that amount of money, I wonder if I can get the cafeteria to serve square pizza?
