Everything tastes better with cheese!

This week, a new festival was announced by 97X, our sister station in the Quad Cities. As soon as I saw that it was all about my favorite food, I knew I had to add it to my calendar. Get ready for the first ever FESTIVAL OF CHEESE!

What's the 'Festival of Cheese?'

The Festival of Cheese is an event that's completely dedicated to cheese, all the way down to the live music! The headliner for the night is the appropriately-named band Cheese Pizza, who will be putting on "the most outrageous retro show on the planet."

The main attraction of the Festival of Cheese, though, is obviously the food. The event will feature a variety of local food trucks, all of which will be tasked with coming up with a special, cheese-based creation. We don't know which trucks will be present just yet, but 97X promises that information is coming soon.

Oh, and there will be a cheese-themed DRINK, as well. Bettendorf-based Twin Span Brewing is coming up with some sort of cheese-inspired beverage for the festival, which both intrigues and scares me a little bit.

In addition to the food and the live music, the Festival of Cheese will also feature "unique, cheesy merchandise vendors," cheese-themed crafts & games, prizes, and even an appearance from "Cheesus" (???).

When/Where is It?

The inaugural Festival of Cheese will be held at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport on Saturday, November 14th. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the party will go until 10 p.m.

How Much Are Tickets?

Tickets for the Festival of Cheese are $20 for ages 13+ and $10 for ages 6 to 12. Each ticket includes a punch card for five samples of the cheesy creations from local food trucks. You can purchase your tickets in advance HERE. I can't wait!
