Local law enforcement organizations are planning the 11th Annual Go The Distance for Crime Victims 5k Run/Walk event in conjunction with National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

Online registration has ended but you can register in person on Friday, March 31 from 4-6 p.m. during Race Day Bag Pickup at the Cedar Rapids Police Department, 505 1st St. SW in Cedar Rapids.

Race day registration on Saturday, April 1 begins at 7 a.m. at Thomas Park in Marion on the corner of Highway 151 and Blairs Ferry Road.

The run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. at Thomas Park with an awards ceremony to follow.

The proceeds from the event will aid many different types of victims including families of homicide/vehicular homicide victims, domestic violence victims, victims of sexual assault and many other crime victims.
