Eastern Iowa Native to Play Grand Ole Opry in August
You talk about awesome news. Shueyville native Hailey Whitters is set to play country music's most hallowed stage next month... the GRAND OLE OPRY!
Hailey made the announcement this morning on her Facebook page saying,
IM PLAYING THE Grand Ole Opry AUG 7!!!!!!!! This has been a fifteen year dream in the making and I cannot properly express how much this means to me...
When I was fifteen years old, I stood backstage and told Little Jimmie Dickens I would play that stage someday.
Throughout the years there have assuredly been moments of self doubt where I truly questioned whether or not my Opry dream would ever become a reality... and I am so humbled and so honored to say that it will be in two weeks.
Thank you to the Opry for giving me the opportunity to sing my songs in that sacred circle ... and for allowing me to go back in time and tell 15 yr old Hailey, “you did it.” Truly in awe. ❤️
She'll share the same stage with Dustin Lynch, Carly Pearce, and Sara Evans Wednesday, August 7 at the Opry.
I've gotta tell you, Hailey's "Guest Artist" page on the Grand Ole Opry website looks pretty great. It's awesome to see dreams come true, especially when it comes to someone whose dreams originated right here. And it couldn't happen to a nicer gal, either. Congrats, Hailey!
