Eastern Iowa Charity Plans Annual Car Show and Fundraiser
A cool car show to kick off summer with food, music, entertainment and games is exactly what the staff and families at Camp Courageous hope will bring you joy after a long year cooped up from the pandemic.
They're also hoping you'll attend with the support of their mission in mind to bring joy to nearly 10,000 Iowans with special needs. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports on the 34th Annual "Cruisin' for Camp Courageous" which is set to take place on Sunday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The charity car show portion of the event is presented by Cedar Valley Street Rods and features hundreds of show cars, classic cars, motorcycles, and trucks. Those wishing to register a vehicle in the car show can do so for $10 now through May 12. After that, it goes up to $15. You can also register on-site the day of the show from 8 a.m. until noon.
Other family-friendly events attendees can enjoy include a large live and silent auction, various food stands, a large craft show, and a DJ show featuring live music from 3D Sound. Pinstriping demonstrations, and kids' games, prizes and a bouncy house, all for an admission of $5 for adults. Admission for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult is free. Admission prices will set you up to enjoy every event taking place on that day.
