Only 5 short years ago it was all smiles and ribbons were cut for this new facility in Dubuque Iowa.  It is a 102,000 sq ft building that was to house 12 full-time employees and 200 seasonal part-time employees during the company's peak season.  A satellite distribution center for the Duluth Trading Company based in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.  According to the Duluth Trading Company, the people here would "give more capacity to their internet sales distribution along with providing distribution to the company's brick-and-mortar locations". This location was to help with the operations of the primary distribution warehouse in Belleville, Wisconsin.

What's happening with the warehouse in Dubuque?

It's sad to learn that as of October 27, 2024, the 40 full-time and 30-plus part-time workers will be losing their jobs.  The company will be closing that distribution warehouse location on Chavenelle Road in Dubuque.

The mayor of Dubuque, Brad Cavanagh said the employees losing their jobs at Duluth Trading Company would be invited to attend a job fair coming up on September 5th.  The job fair was originally set up for the laid-off John Deere Works Dubuque employees.  The mayor said they will make sure Duluth employees are included.
