Drag Boat Races This Saturday In Cedar Rapids

The Cedar Boat Club is sponsoring the 7th annual Fire on the River Boat Drags this Saturday, September 7th. The event will take place on the Cedar River along Ellis Harbor.

Racing will kick-off at 1 p.m. with a test-n-tune practice session starting at around 10 a.m. There will be bracket style heads-up racing with classes starting at under 45 MPH all the way up to 116 MPH! I promise you, this is a pretty cool event to watch as a spectator!

The finish line is just before the 5 Season Ski Team bleachers across from the Ellis Pool area. Get there early to get the best seat for all of the action. Coolers and  lawn chairs are welcome as there will be no food vendors on site.

All watercraft are welcome to enter. Registration for the racers will start at 8 a.m. Entry fee is $40 per entry. Safety rules for the event can be found via this link.

This event is FREE to the public and sponsored by Iowa Fluid Power, Sperry Engines, APC Emmert, Pearl Street Social Club, Kip Curl, Fleck Sales, Cady Construction and Collins Road Tire Company.
