A Cedar Rapids Rescue is Offering a Hilarious Gift for Pet Owners

Dogs Forever is bringing back a hilarious fundraiser this May, just in time for Mother's Day 2025! Be sure to place your order for a "Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait!"

What is a "Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait?"

It's EXACTLY what it sounds like! According to the event page from Dogs Forever:

"You may get a realistic sketch, a funny rendering, or a portrait done by a volunteer 'artist' who really REALLY tried."

How Do I Order One?

The 2025 fundraiser will begin Thursday, May 1st and run through Wednesday, May 7th. On the first day of the fundraiser, there will be a post under the "discussions" tab on the Facebook event asking for your photo, and that's where you'll request your portrait. Here's the information that you'll need to include in the comment:

• The photo of your pet
• Your pet's name
• Which payment method you'll be using (cash/check or Venmo)
• Whether you'd like the finished portrait: A. Posted under your comment, or B. sent to you via email

It's important to note that you will NOT get a physical copy of the finished portrait. It will be sent to you digitally, and then you will be responsible for printing it off.

How Much Does it Cost?

If you send in a photo with just ONE pet in it, it's $15. If the photo has more than one pet that you want drawn, it's an additional $10 per pet. So, if you have two dogs in your photo, it would be $25 total. If you were to send in TWO separate photos of two different dogs, it's $15 for each photo, so $30 total.

Dogs Forever's Venmo is "DogsForeverRescue" - it is listed under a personal account, NOT a business account. Please don't select "purchase protection," because it will take an additional fee from the donation. If it asks for four digits to verify your donation, the numbers to type are: 3501.

All payments coming by mail must be received by Dogs Forever no later than 8 p.m. on the final day of the fundraiser: Wednesday, May 7th.

How Long Will it Take to Get My Finished Portrait?

Not long at all! Dogs Forever says the portraits will be sent to you by your volunteer "artist" within three days! All photos will be completed by Saturday, May 10th, just in time for Mother's Day on the 11th!
