Aren't homemade gifts just the BEST?

I know it's January and the holidays are over and done, but since I've been on vacation since December 22nd, I haven't had the chance to share with you the AWESOME Christmas gift that I got a couple weeks ago. I got everything that I asked for this past holiday, but there's one thing I received that I definitely wasn't expecting.

This Christmas was my first Christmas with my own full-sized tree (I've been using a baby tree for the past couple of years). I had plenty of ornaments to put on there, but the one thing I didn't have was a tree skirt. I know tree skirts aren't a big deal to most people, but we ALWAYS had one on our tree growing up. It was one my mom made by herself from a kit. I made a joke to her last year that I don't want to buy a tree skirt, I only want a homemade one. She responded that I was a pain in the you-know-what, and that was the end of that conversation. Low and behold, on Christmas morning I opened up a box and what was inside? A handmade tree skirt! But, this one was special. She didn't buy a kit from the store (she said she looked but couldn't find any), she created this one totally on her own. It's absolutely perfect.

Out of everything I received for Christmas, this gift was by far my favorite. You really can't beat homemade gifts, and you can tell my mom put a ton of work into it. It's one of those gifts I will always remember!
