Courtlin Tried Hiawatha’s Newest Breakfast Restaurant [PHOTOS]

I'm already ready to go back!

A few weeks ago, we told you about a brand new breakfast restaurant over on Blairs Ferry Road in Hiawatha. It's called The Breakfast Bar by Saucy Focaccia, and it officially opened for business in early June. My friend and I decided to stop by yesterday morning to try it out, and we were definitely not disappointed!

The first thing you should probably know about the Breakfast Bar is that it's a pretty small place, so if you go during a busy time (say, 10:15 a.m. on a Sunday), you'll likely have to wait. We have no issue waiting for good breakfast food, so we spent about 25 minutes eyeing everyone's orders until we were seated. The décor is super cute and the space appears very clean and tidy, which we both appreciated.

The menu isn't huge, but it was still hard to make a decision about what to order because everything looked SO good. I started with a peach mimosa, and my friend went with a cold brew iced coffee with vanilla.

As far as food goes, I ended up ordering the Cheesy Lover Omelette, which comes with your choice of potato and toast. I picked the Parmesan Potato Bake and a homemade biscuit, and they were both SO GOOD. The Parmesan Potato Bake is basically cheesy potatoes, so I had a feeling it would be delicious.

My friend ordered the Fruity Belgian Waffle with blueberry compote and whipped cream, and then opted for a side of Homestyle Potatoes topped with pepper jack cheese sauce. If you're wondering, yes, I did try both items, and yes, they were also amazing (ESPECIALLY the potatoes).

So, to recap, the restaurant is cute and clean, the food is really, REALLY good, and our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be adding the Breakfast Bar to our weekend breakfast rotation, along with our other favorites like Riley's, Breakfast House, Edith Lucielle's, and Midtown Station. I think next time I'll get one of the egg benedict options...
