My 25th birthday is less than two weeks away, and it's a Tuesday this year, which is kind of a bummer. What can you possibly do on a Tuesday? Everybody has work (including me), there's no big events going on, and I don't have the extra time off to go home to Michigan and see my family. I had nothing. No plans. And then Garth Brooks announced his final show in Des Moines...

Tuesday May 3rd.

It was fate! Unfortunately, I didn't get tickets before they sold out. Since I'll be in Nashville the entire weekend he's performing and won't be able to attend any of his other shows, I was super bummed. Garth is such an iconic performer and a great guy, I felt like it was a huge missed opportunity. Especially because it seems like everyone in the state of Iowa is going except for me. I begged and pleaded with Bob James that if there was ANY WAY to get me tickets, to please let me know. With only two weeks until the show and no word, the outlook wasn't good. I had lost hope... and then this happened (sorry about the video quality, this was taken on a phone outside of Listener Lunch):

In the mean time, I am trying to memorize Garth Brooks' entire discography in time for the show. I'm so EXCITED!
