Aggravated with the drive from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City? Wish you could just sit back and relax and before you know it you'd be at your destination? A corridor passenger bus service could be just what you're looking for! Just such a service is expected to begin in 2018.

The Iowa Department of Transportation hopes to launch the bus service one year before the Interstate 80/380 interchange replacement project. The hope is to relieve some of the traffic and congestion during construction which is slated for 2019 through 2023. The express bus service would be funded as part of the $270 million budget of the five-year I-80/380 interchange project.

Planning is still underway, but right now the proposed cost would be $3.50 for a one-way trip. Eight round trips would run in the morning and evening, starting every 30 minutes. An end to end ride would last around 50 minutes.
