Conor McGregor Throws a Terrible ‘First Pitch’ at Cubs Game (VIDEO)
Wow.
You know, after his attempt to throw a football at AT&T Stadium in 2018, we should have known that he can't throw a baseball any better:
I wouldn't expect a perfect strike, but you'd think someone with as much athletic talent as McGregor would at least be able to throw a round object with a bit of accuracy.
...and with that one pitch, McGregor landed himself into the Terrible First Pitch Hall of Fame, joining 50 Cent from 2013 at Citi Field. As Harry Doyle would have announced, "Juuuuust a bit outside."
Someone out there in the World Wide Web put the two pitches side-by-side, you know, for comparative purposes...and of course, to generate more laughs:
Joining McGregor's pitch in the "Worst Ceremonial First Pitches of All-Time" ---- Howard Stern's producer, Gary Dell'Abate. His pitch was so bad that he hit the umpire.
On July 14, 2013, Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen showed the world what it looked like to throw a baseball into the turf in Florida:
Former Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory embarrassed himself on April 2, 2007, by throwing the ball 30 feet to the first base side of the field.
In 2011 in Japan, Mariah Carey -- while wearing high heels -- bounced the ball four times before it was retrieved by the catcher:
This next terrible pitch from 2017 is close to being the worst, especially when it hits a guy with a camera in the groin. Introducing Jordan Leandre...
But at least the cameraman got the shot...
But the WORST first pitch ever (in my opinion) happened on May 28, 2019, at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. White Sox employee Mary Ruich threw out the ceremonial first pitch and drilled the camera held by Darren Georgia. (FYI: The camera and the man were ok after being hit by this ferocious fastball)
