Hear Cole Swindell’s New Single With Dierks Bentley, ‘Flatliner’

Cole Swindell joins forces with Dierks Bentley on a brand new single from his current album, You Should Be Here. The song, "Flatliner," is an upbeat one that brings to mind previous fast-paced Bentley hits like "Sideways" and "5-1-5-0" and is sure to be a fun addition to Swindell's live show.

A song about a girl that stops Swindell in his boots, the "You Should Be Here" singer asks his friend, Bentley, what he should do to get this girl's attention. "What would Dierks do?" Swindell asks mid-song.

"Grab a guitar and go sing her a song," Bentley suggests.

"And go play one of my songs?" Swindell asks.

"No, don't play one of yours. Play one of mine, man!" Bentley urges. "She's worth the whiskey, bro. Go get her one."

Bentley expressed his surprise at their banter being featured on the final version of the feel-good track:

Swindell told Country Countdown USA that he wrote "Flatliner" four years ago for Bentley.

"I wrote it for him, sent it to him and never heard from him," Swindell explains. "I don’t know if he heard it or didn’t like it, but a year or so ago, I was texting with him and sent it to him, and he loved it. We talked about it for a while, and sure enough, we got to do it, and it’s gonna be awesome. I’m just very excited to be singing with Dierks."

You Should Be Here has already scored back-to-back No. 1 songs with its title song and "Middle of a Memory." Swindell will join Bentley on the road as a support act for his What the Hell Tour, which kicks off in Dayton, Ohio on Jan. 19. Jon Pardi is also on the bill for those shows.
