Clint Black & Chris Janson Will Bring Tradition & Energy to Eastern Iowa
Contrasting styles will be on the same stage in eastern Iowa this summer, making for a very entertaining show.
Add another fantastic concert to the list of shows you'll need to see this summer as we welcome both Clint Black and Chris Janson to an outdoor stage this July.
A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1991, Clint Black still isn't in the Country Music Hall of Fame. That needs to be fixed.
Black exploded onto the scene in 1989 with the song "A Better Man" from his debut album "Killin' Time". When "A Better Man" made it to #1, it was the first single from a new male artist to accomplish the feat in 15 years. Black released three more songs from his debut album that would go to #1 and he won the CMA Horizon Award (now New Artist of the Year) that fall. "A Better Man" was also the #1 song of 1989.
Clint Black's first 24 singles made the top 10. He wrote 22 of his own #1 songs. I'm still waiting for his much-deserved selection to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
I love listening to Clint Black play the harmonica on "Put Yourself in My Shoes" and you'll also see Chris Janson show his harmonica skills at this concert.
Janson's career trajectory has been much slower than that of Clint Black, but it's also an impressive one. A Missouri native, Janson's breakthrough hit was "Buy Me a Boat" in 2015. Since then, he's landed four more top 10 hits and a pair of number ones... "Good Vibes" and "Done".
While Clint Black is the perfect sing for traditional country songs, Chris Janson brings endless energy and fun to the stage. Together, they'll make for a tremendous concert on Saturday, July 29 at the Jackson County Fair in Maquoketa. More details on the concert are available here.
