One of the biggest country stars of the late 1980s and 1990s is returning to Cedar Rapids this summer!

Clint Black is a country music legend. He burst on the country music scene in 1989, just as the format was about to take off into the stratosphere! Black is a true triple threat. He is an amazing guitarist, singer, and songwriter. And this year he is celebrating the 35th anniversary of one of his biggest albums, Killin' Time.

Clint's Killin' Time album is one of the biggest and most important in the history of country music. Clint would release and score five straight number-one singles off his debut album, the first time the feat had been accomplished in the history of country music! The songs A Better Man, Killin' Time, Nobody's Home, Walkin' Away, and Nothing's News all hit #1! The album was named Album of the Year by the ACMs.

That was just the start of an amazing career that would see Clint go on to sell over 20 million records and chalk up 22 #1 singles. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Nashville Walk of Fame. This past year, Clint was awarded the Poets Award at the ACM Honors ceremony.
