Christmas Shopping is Actually Good Exercise
If you want to eat until you explode this holiday season, you go ahead and do it! A new study found that if you do a lot of Christmas shopping in stores, you're actually getting a good amount of exercise.
I spent a very large part of my Thanksgiving weekend out shopping. After doing it 4 days in a row for 3-5 hours at a time, I was totally exhausted. Sometimes I forget that everyday activities actually count as a workout.
I'm happy to report that a new study found that, in a typical Christmas shopping trip, you walk an average of 5 miles. To get everything you need, it usually takes an average of 5 hours, which is why you do so much walking! On top of that, 77% of people make up to 5 shopping trips leading up to Christmas. If you do 5 hours of shopping 5 different times, congrats! You walked about 25 miles. That's a solid amount of exercise.
The survey doesn't say anything about carrying shopping bags, but MAN, if you have a ton of them, that'll give you a bit of an arm workout, as well!
How many shopping trips does it take for you to get all of your gifts? I do a lot of online shopping, so it usually only takes me 2-3. Leave your comments below.
