Stephen King Film Shot in Iowa Set for Special Screening Event
You would assume that any movie that deals with corn would be set in the state of Iowa. A Stephen King classic might not have been set in the Hawkeye state, but large portions of the movie were filmed here.
The movie 'Children of the Corn' is coming back to Iowa. The classic Stephen King novel turned movie is about a group of adults who fall victim to a dangerous cult and an evil entity. And oh yeah...kids are involved.
Where Was 'Children of the Corn' Filmed?
The Des Moines Register reports that despite the movie being set in Nebraska, it was actually filmed in three Western Iowa towns. Those cities included Whitting, Hornick, and Sioux City, Iowa. In fact, fans can watch a special screening of the movie in one of those Iowa towns later this summer.
Where is the Special Screening of 'Children of the Corn'?
The Register reports that 'Children of the Corn' will be showing on July 11th and 12th in Whitting, Iowa. The Myers House is hosting a film series called On Set Cinema that allows fans to watch horror movies where they were filmed. The event will include a special screening of the movie and a bus tour of the filming locations in and around the town of Whitting.
