Eastern Iowa Winery & Distillery to Celebrate 20 Year Anniversary in August
In the last two decades, Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher has put Iowa whiskey on the map. Now, the Eastern Iowa business is preparing to celebrate their 20 year anniversary with a big party!
The History of Cedar Ridge
Cedar Ridge got its start back in 2005 and released its very first batch of whiskey in 2010. According to the official website, "The Quint family has farmed and distilled spirits for generations. In 2005, Jeff Quint founded Cedar Ridge because he believed it was time for Iowa–the number one corn-producing state in the U.S.–to share its homegrown Bourbon Whiskey with the world." Cedar Ridge was reportedly the first licensed distillery in the state of Iowa since Prohibition, and it has gone on to earn national recognition and several major awards!
The Anniversary Party
To celebrate their 20 year anniversary, fans of the winery and distillery are invited to come out for a big party at their location in Swisher. The celebration is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16th, which also happens to be the exact date that Cedar Ridge’s license was approved back in 2005. In addition to live music, distillery tours, and tastings, there will also be a special anniversary bourbon release during the event. The music lineup includes Billy Heller from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and David Zollo & the Body Electric from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A full schedule of the day's events has yet to be announced, but tickets are already on sale for the 20th Anniversary QuintEssential Experience with Murphy Quint, which will take place on the 16th from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. You can get more information on that special event HERE.
