The Cedar Rapids Texas Roadhouse Will Be Relocating Next Year

Don't worry... it won't be going far!

According to a new article from the Corridor Business Journal, the Cedar Rapids Texas Roadhouse at 2065 Edgewood Road SW is going to be moving into a brand new building that has yet to be built. The owner and franchise operator Chris Scheck announced that the new restaurant will be in the parking lot of the former AMC Theater at 2425 Edgewood Road SW. The movie theater never reopened after the derecho in 2020.

The announcement for the new Texas Roadhouse was made on the business' official Facebook page back on October 25th. It reads:

"Did you know we are relocating in Spring 2025? You heard that right! We will just be a stone's throw away down the road from our current location and remain on Edgewood Road. This week we broke ground with our golden shovel and are so excited for the community to watch our new restaurant be built!"

The article from CBR reports that the new building will be bigger than the current one, which was built back in 2000. It's currently 7,500 square feet, but the new restaurant will be around 10,000 square feet. That means more seating, more parking, a bigger indoor waiting area, and a separate entrance for carry-out orders. They also plan to hire around 40 to 50 more employees. If all goes to plan, the new restaurant will open in April of next year.
