We love a happy ending!

Earlier this week, a kind Iowan by the name of Amy Nicholson-Jordan helped make a Christmas miracle happen right here in Cedar Rapids. Amy stopped by the Cedar Valley Humane Society and met Rudolph, a senior pup that was in the need of some love. She was so moved by her visit with Rudolph, she made a Facebook post dedicated to getting him adopted. The post reads:

"Ok friends, this is a long shot but I don’t know what else to do. There is a 14 year old beagle at Cedar Valley Humane Society right now who needs to get out of there. He is the absolute sweetest boy. He sat with his body pressed up against the cage just soaking up the little touch I could give him through it. I sat with him for a very long time. He seems to be very healthy and just needs a place to curl up and be loved."

Amy's Facebook post, which featured photos and videos of Rudolph, ended up being shared over 700 times! Thanks to the exposure, the sweet boy ended up getting adopted the very next day.

The Cedar Valley Humane Society shared the amazing news yesterday on Facebook, writing:

"We are happy to announce that he has found his forever home today! His adopter chose to pay it forward since Rudolph's adoption fee was sponsored and now another senior pup will have their adoption fee waived whenever one comes to CVHS."

Rudolph's new owner is Ilise Mallie, who has adopted through the Cedar Valley Humane Society before. When she saw the viral Facebook post, she just knew she needed to bring Rudolph home. In the comments of the CVHS's post, Ilise wrote:

"THANK YOU SO MUCH to CVHS and Amy Nicholson-Jordan for helping warm our hearts with another BeagleBoy! We lost our senior beagle last summer and have been waiting for the perfect time to get another. This just felt too perfect!"

As you can see, Rudolph is very excited to finally have a "furever" home! Thank you to everyone involved for helping to spread some holiday cheer just in time for Christmas. We hope Rudolph's senior years are full of snuggles and treats!
