Cedar Rapids Restaurant Selling Its Own Bloody Mary Mix

Customers will come from miles around to enjoy a great bloody mary. There are countless recipes and ways to make the drink, but one Cedar Rapids restaurant is capitalizing on its winning variety and is now bottling and selling that bloody mary mix to thirsty patrons.

There are plenty of reasons to stop by for a meal at Lucky's on 16th in Cedar Rapids. They serve breakfast all day and feature some of the biggest pancakes you've ever seen! The lunch and dinner menu is awesome too. But one thing that goes great with breakfast or a Sunday brunch is a bloody mary, and Lucky's recipe is a favorite in Eastern Iowa. And now you can bring a bottle home with you!

Lucky'z Bloody Mary mix was created by a Cedar Rapids couple, Heather Armstrong and Jaymz Larson. Both are restaurant and bar owners and both were having trouble finding a bloody mary mix that they and their customers liked and that they could keep in stock! After the pandemic, production and cost became an issue. After talking with other entrepreneurs, the two decided to create their own recipe. After locating a distributor, they came up with the name, combining the names of their two restaurants, Lucky's on 16th and The Double Z Bar and Grill.

You can pick up a bottle at either restaurant for just $10. Lucky's also uses the mix in their chili! I was able to try a sample of the bloody mary mix at Lucky's on 16th and personally think it is fantastic! It has just a little kick, and tastes amazing! Now you can make the perfect bloody mary at home or tailgating. Plus, you're supporting local businesses here in Cedar Rapids. Cheers!
