Cedar Rapids Police Say Be On Alert For Suspicious Call
'Tis the season. To watch your money and protect yourself from thieves.
As if you're not annoyed enough by political calls and messages by now, the Cedar Rapids police are warning residents of a massive call scam that has begun this week.
An individual is calling local residents, telling them money in the amount of $2000 has been taken out of their bank account. You are then told to call another number to have the money returned.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department says don't fall for this scam, but if you receive one of these calls and are in doubt, call your bank directly for information.
The holidays are coming and these kinds of scams will be on the rise. Start by ignoring calls from numbers that aren't familiar to you. Be careful to whom you give your personal and financial details and learn more at CBS2.
