Mini Pines Golf Course is finally ready to welcome golfers!

According to the City of Cedar Rapids website, Mini Pines Golf Course will hold a grand opening celebration today at 3800 42nd Street NE, right next to Twin Pines Golf Course. The website says:

"Mini Pines overlooks Twin Pines Golf Course, and provides 18 holes of play that can be fun and social, or competitive. The course loops to a pond area and nine-foot waterfall, challenging players with four holes that involve water play. It concludes with a final “horse race” hole where anyone has a chance to win."

If you want to be the first to check out the new Mini Pines course, the grand opening celebration will take place today, June 11th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be speakers and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and then after 4:30 p.m., the course will be open for paid play. Plus, they'll have drawings for some free rounds of golf. The cost is $3 for ages 4 and under, $6 for ages 5 to 18, $8 for ages 19 to 64, and $7 for ages 65 and up. You will also be able to purchase 10-round punch cards if your family plans to do a lot of golfing this summer.

After the grand opening today, Mini Pines will officially be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (as long as the weather is cooperating). If you're interested in hosting a party, there are also little patios you can rent. You can read more on Mini Pines Golf Course and the grand opening celebration HERE.
