Cedar Rapids Man Wins BIG Money with Scratch Ticket
The state of Iowa has seen some huge paydays over the last week and we've got another one to add to the list.

The month of February has been very kind to lottery players, especially those buying scratch tickets. I know it's only February 7 but just look at this:
The month started with a bang when Jennyfer Akers claimed the very last top prize in the '$250,000 Extreme Cash' scratch game. On February 1, she called winning that kind of cash 'mind-boggling.' She'd purchased two tickets. The first won her $10. Clearly, the second one was worth a whole lot more.
Akers, 31, says, "I have two nephews on the way, six months apart, so you bet that they are going to be spoiled rotten." That cash will definitely help.
Brad Carter did even better. While playing the "Super 7s Progressive" InstaPlay game, Brad won $443,507! He claimed the cash Monday at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive.
When Brad won, he called his wife, Angel. It took a bit for her to comprehend because Brad was "pretty emotional, I can't talk and stuff, she didn't know what was going on until I calmed down a little bit and told her."
Brad isn't a first-time winner. He won $28,840 from the Iowa Lottery in January of 2022. Obviously, the check was a little bigger this time.
While I'm really happy for Jennyfer and Brad, they're both from Des Moines. How about a Cedar Rapids winner, I thought. Ask and ye shall receive.
Cedar Rapidian Quinton Kruse claimed the top prize in the “Triple Tripler” scratch game. He bought his ticket at Casey's on 31st Avenue in Urbana and claimed the cash on Monday at the lottery regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Quinton turned a $10 scratch game ticket into $100,000. A pretty nice return on his investment.
Congratulations Jennyfer, Brad, and Quinton! And especially to you, Quinton. I'm only kidding of course, but it's great to see someone from Cedar Rapids with a check that has all those zeros.
