Popular Cedar Rapids Restaurant Set to Close After Nearly Five Years
Another Cedar Rapids restaurant has announced it will soon close. This one specializes in Indian cuisine.
Cedar Rapids Indian Restaurant to Close
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that the Indian street-fusion restaurant Delhicacy, located at 921 Blairs Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids, has announced that it will soon close, just shy of its five-year anniversary. In a July 7th social media post, the restaurant owner said that the closure will mark the "completion of a beautiful chapter."
The post goes on to say that the restaurant is going out on a high note, and the owner said that she also plans to spend more time with her young son, according to the Gazette.
Starting as a Newbo Vendor
Delhicacy opened in August of 2021 after the owner found success with Melting Bite, an Indian dessert vendor at Newbo, according to the Gazette. Delhicacy offered a full buffet and village-style seating in low booths so patrons could sit cross-legged while dining. And while fans of the restaurant only have a few days left to enjoy the menu, this isn't a total goodbye.
The restaurant owner says that she is planning her next move, which, according to the Gazette, will be a smaller cafe. Stay tuned for more details!
Until then, you have until July 18th to stop by Delhicacy in Cedar Rapids one final time.
