Cedar Falls’ Evelyn Schmitz Set To Compete On American Ninja Warrior Jr.
When Cedar Falls' fifth-grader, Evelyn Schmitz traveled to Los Angeles last July, to be a contestant on the TV show, "American Ninja Warrior Junior", she could have never imagined what would be going on in the world right now.
When the 11-year-old's godfather, Scott Behrends, opened an obstacle gym called "Ninja U" in September of 2018, she was excited to have more things to train on and more obstacles to challenge her. Evelyn's love of the sport prompted her to audition for the reality competition show “American Ninja Warrior Junior,” the children’s version of “American Ninja Warrior.”
After getting turned down in her first audition, Evelyn tried again and will appear on this Friday night's episode, which airs on the Universal Kids network, at 6 p.m.
Unfortunately, because of Coronavirus restrictions, Evelyn and her friends and family aren't able to have a public watch party, however, they may try to have a Facebook live event.
"Good Luck Evelyn", we know you'll represent Iowa well and make us proud!
