Iowa Favorites to Headline Music Festival in Cedar Falls
It's going to be a major summer of music for the Cedar Valley!
On Thursday evening, news of a major music festival in Cedar Falls came out. The officials behind the event dropped the lineup for this summer concert event. Some big Iowa artists are already slated to perform.
The Cedar Basin Music Festival will be back again this summer. However, it's supposed to be better than ever. This Cedar Falls-based weekend event started out years ago as a jazz festival but has evolved into a fun, family-friendly community event.
Slated to take place from June 24-26, this festival will take place across two stages. One of them is the Heritage Stage at Sturgis Park, behind the Ice House Museum in Cedar Falls. The other location is the New Aldaya Jazz Stage, located at 7511 University Ave, according to the event website.
The officials behind the FREE event have announced a good chunk of the lineup, and it's pretty stacked! Iowa-based cover band the Pork Tornadoes are one of the big names attached to the project.
They describe themselves as "a powerful party band that has played all around the Midwest at the best and biggest bars, festivals, corporate events and weddings."
This group has been together and performing at your favorite bars for the past 12 years now. Consisting of four talented musicians, the band has become a sort of a fixture in the state.
One of the other big names you probably recognize on the list is season 16 American Idol winner Maddie Poppe!
The Clarksville native is in the midst of putting out some new music while also gearing up for a return to the American Idol stage this spring. She recently announced that she will be appearing on a new special called The Great Idol Reunion to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.
According to reports, she might even be doing a duet with her boyfriend and season 16 runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson.
