"The Ironmen: The True Story of Nile Kinnick and the 1939 Iowa Hawkeyes" is ready to start production and is starting casting by looking to fill a pair of famous local roles.

KCRG says the casting call will be held at FilmScene, 118 East College St. in Iowa City, from 9-11 a.m on Saturday, June 22. They will be holding tryouts for the roles of famous Iowa artist Grant Wood and noted Iowa artist Elizabeth Catlett. She received one of the first Master's of Fine Arts degrees at the University of Iowa, and was the first African-American woman to do so.

If interested, be at FilmScene on the 22nd prepared to do a short, taped reading. These are the only two roles being filled at this casting call, but you're encouraged to bring resumes and headshots for future consideration. Producers actually think they've found their choice for the lead role of Nile Kinnick in an actor named Shane Alan Graham, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, but there will be plenty of other roles to cast before filming starts in late 2019.
