She may not want me to publicize this, but I am going to anyway, because I am somehow considered a "celebrity" whose personal life is somehow supposed to be important. This story touches more on what is really important.

I want to tell you how proud I am of my sister. She served several years in the Army National Guard before moving up to the position she is in now. See, she is a Capitol Policewoman in Washington, D.C.

As you may have heard, several of her colleagues, along with Representative and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise were wounded in a shooting this morning. Just a bunch of folks who love our country and defend it, cutting loose in a little baseball game and they get shot.

I immediately texted her to find out that she was fine, and she is. That didn't stop the worry or concern I have for her and her brothers and sisters in uniform everytime I hear about one of these things. It's a tough job that takes a select few and special people to do, and I couldn't be more proud of her for being one of them.

My thoughts are with Rep. Scalise, the injured officers and their loved ones. Law enforcement and public servants everywhere deserve our heartfelt gratitude for putting their lives on the line daily.

P.S.: can these shootings and this violence please stop, in general? Thanks.

P.P.S: I hope I am not in the doghouse with my sister for this.
