Boulder Tap House is Opening a Fourth Iowa Location

It looks like Boulder Tap House is taking over the state of Iowa! According to the Des Moines Register, the chain restaurant is getting ready to open another location in the Hawkeye State over in Central Iowa.

Boulder Tap House first got its start in Minnesota, but now has ten locations across both Minnesota and Iowa. They also just opened the first one in Wisconsin! The new location in Iowa will be the fourth in the state, but the 11th overall. It actually would've been the fifth Boulder Tap House in Iowa, had the Lindale Mall location not closed in June of 2023.

The brand new Boulder Tap House is moving into the space at 2732 SE Delaware Ave in Ankeny, which was the former home of Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom. Old Chicago officially shut down in late 2023.

If you're not familiar with Boulder Tap House, the restaurant is best known for its burgers, wings, and craft beer selection. They even have an item called the Epic Burger that consists of "three 6oz Angus burger patties, 4 slices of pecan smoked bacon, Pabst onions, smashed tater kegs, cheddar cheese curds, beer battered fries, fried pickles and 3 slices of American cheese." It's then "drizzled with BBQ mayo all on toasted buns and served with one pound of beer battered fries on the side." That's a LOT of food!

Don't sleep on the cheese curds, either. They are house made available with cheddar, white cheddar, or pepper jack cheese, and I hear they're AMAZING. And, the Beastly Bloodys look insane...
