Sometimes awesome things happen to good people. It was just three weeks ago yesterday that I spoke to Lenore Zoll, whose aunt and uncle had run Boston Fish in Cedar Rapids for more than three decades. She was disappointed because the land the building sits on had been sold. The place where she started her working career at age 14 and had been in charge of recently, was going to close on May 30. Turns out, Boston Fish will actually close this Friday, May 24. However, it won't be closed long!

According to a post on the Boston Fish Facebook page, the property's new owner stopped by for lunch last week. During that lunch, Boston Fish was likely saved. The new owner "could see we had something special here and didn't want to even shut the doors to renovate. He said we need to just keep this going."

Boston Fish will reopen on Monday, June 3. During that little more than a week that the doors will be closed, Boston Fish will be doing some revamping, as well as hiring some new staff members. If you're interested, stop by for an application.

Boston Fish is staying... a Cedar Rapids tradition will continue.
