Body Found In Cedar Rapids

UPDATE: The individual found deceased has been identified as 77-year-old Joseph Frank Botello. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results for the cause and manner of his death. This will help further assist the investigation in the unattended death.

According to CBS2, "Cedar Rapids Police are now investigating after a body was found on the city's southwest side."

Police found an unconscious male outside the address of 505 33rd Avenue SW, at 2:45 p.m. Officers later determined the man was dead. At this time the name of the deceased male has not been released.

According to KCCI, "Police on the scene believed the man was to be in his 70's." Where the man was found is a space used as an overflow for a nearby homeless shelter.
