Bluff Lake Catfish Farm Extends It’s Winter Hours [PHOTOS]
If you ask someone from Eastern Iowa to name an out-of-the-way restaurant that is worth the long scenic drive to get there, many will drop the name Bluff Lake Catfish Farm near Maquoketa. Growing up in Jones County, my family made regular trips to the little restaurant in the middle of nowhere and enjoyed some of the best food around. Sure the wait was long. But man, is it worth it!
Bluff Lake recently announced that they are expanding their winter hours to include Fridays. And on Fridays, you can once again enjoy their whole catfish and prime rib! You can do all you can eat with the catfish and enjoy 12 or 18-ounce portions of prime rib.
Winter hours at Bluff Lake now include Fridays from 4:30 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 3 to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturdays, you can enjoy all you can eat Haddock and on Sundays, it's all-you-can-eat shrimp and chicken! But going to Bluff Lake is more than just great food. It's about feeding the ducks near the pond. It's about enjoying the great Iowa weather while waiting for your table to open up.
And while I have plenty of great memories of meals at Bluff Lake, you don't have to just take my word for it. Bluff Lake Catfish Farm was voted by our KHAK listeners as their favorite restaurant in Eastern Iowa!
So if you've been craving catfish, there is no better place to find it this Lenten season. But get there early. It's Bluff Lake...there's going to be a wait!
