It's amazing to think the show first appeared on TV just over 4 1/2 years ago, but Bluey has quickly become a global phenomenon adored by young kids. Later this year, you and your kids will be able to see the live show "Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show!" in Cedar Rapids.

Bluey, which follows Bluey, a 6-year-old blue heeler, along with Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli, first premiered in Australia in October of 2018. It's now that country's number one kids show on broadcast TV.

In 2019, BBC Studios and Disney signed a contract allowing Bluey to be shown around the world. It's now seen in more than 60 countries. In early 2021, it debuted in the U.S. on Disney Junior, where it's been the #1 most-watched TV series with kids 2-6, according to a media release. The official Blue channel on YouTube has nearly 2.7 million subscribers. The TV show's official Facebook page has almost 2.15 million followers.

Here's the storyline for "Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show!", which is coming to Cedar Rapids: "When Dad feels like a little bit of Sunday afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag."

The two Cedar Rapids shows at the Paramount Theatre will feature puppetry and live actors. They will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 26 and 27. The performances begin at 6:30 each night with tickets going on sale here this Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m.
