BIG New Restaurant Coming to North Liberty

A new restaurant is heading to the Corridor and it promises to be full-service and family-friendly. It also will be very large.

The Tin Rooster is coming. Owners hope to break ground next month at the corner of West Penn St. and Community Drive in North Liberty for an 8,000 square foot restaurant that will have combined seating for 400. I say "combined" because it will have a large outdoor patio and private dining areas set aside inside.

One of Tin Rooster's partners, Erik Shewmaker, told me "Our menu will be contemporary American, featuring rotisserie chicken as a key menu ingredient. We will pair the menu with craft cocktails & beer and wine." Shewmaker is also one of the partners for 30hop in Coralville and Blackstone in Iowa City.

The Tin Rooster Facebook page promises a moderately priced restaurant ($$). Construction will begin next month for the restaurant that could employ up to 100. They plan to open in early 2017.
