It's been an offseason to remember for Iowa men's basketball fans. Fran McCaffery is gone. Ben McCollum moves in. Players leave. New players arrive! Yesterday, we finally got our first look at what this year's Iowa men's basketball team will look like!

Who Are the Players to Watch for Iowa?

It all starts with point guard Bennett Stirtz. He followed head coach Ben McCollum from Drake to Iowa, along with many other former Bulldog players. Hawk Central reports that Stirtz was the Missouri Valley Player of the Year for Drake and turned plenty of heads in the NCAA Tournament. Heck, ESPN ranked him as the #2 overall prospect in the transfer portal! And he's a Hawkeye!

Stirtz is the only POTY joining Iowa's roster. Hawk Central reports that Horizon League Player of the Year Álvaro Folgueiras arrives from Robert Morris. Throw in sharp-shooting former Kansas State guard Brendan Hausen, and you've got some intriguing offensive weapons for the Hawkeyes!

Is There a Returning Iowa Player That Could Hit It Big?

Coach McCollum landed a number of young players who played for him at Drake. But I'm keeping my eyes on Cooper Koch. The legacy Iowa player had an injury and illness-plagued freshman season. He was granted a redshirt season and has four years of eligibility remaining. Koch is 6'8", can shoot the three, and should flourish in the new Iowa offense.
