Are You Country Music’s Next Big Star?

Have you always dreamed of being a country music star? Do you sing or play in a band and when you see other acts perform you KNOW it could be you? Then we have a contest just for you!

Introducing KHAK's Hometown Riser contest. We'll be giving one local act the opportunity to compete against others from around the nation. If you're the national winner, you'll be featured at Tasteofcountry.com, and be featured on the nationally-syndicated Taste of Country Nights show, with Sam Alex. Everybody here at home would be able to listen because the show airs each evening on 98.1 KHAK.

So how do you enter? Send a video of you, or your band, performing an original song. Please also include what makes you (or your band) special and/or unique. You can email it to us at khak@khak.com or you can submit it via the KHAK app. Don't wait... entries will only be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, January 4. We'll select the finalists, whose videos will all be posted on the KHAK YouTube channel. The final choice will be up to eastern Iowa's country music fans. They'll vote here at KHAK.com, then we'll reveal the winner! The lucky guy or gal will be interviewed on the Brain and Courtlin morning show on K-Hawk.
