Other States With Dry Counties
A dry county is a county in the United States where the sale of alcoholic beverages is forbidden by the local municipality. There might be more dry places in America than you'd originally think. According to World Atlas, there are around 500 "dry" municipalities in America, and Alaska has 83 of them.
The state of Florida has 67 counties and 3 of those counties are dry. Mississippi has a total of 82 counties and 36 of them are dry or partially dry. Arkansas, Georgia, and South Dakota all contain counties that prohibit the sale of alcohol.

In 1934, with the enactment of the Iowa Liquor Control Act, Iowa became one of the first Control states. The state regulates the traffic in alcoholic liquors for the protection of the welfare, health, peace, morals, and safety of the people of the state.
