Just a few weeks ago, we told you that Black Sheep Brewed opened over in the Great America building here in Downtown Cedar Rapids. But, they're not the only ones!

On my way into work this morning, I noticed a sign for a place called Craft'd in Downtown Cedar Rapids. I immediately looked up the business when I got to the station, and I'm happy to report that there's a new coffee shop just down the street from us!

With Facebook posts dating all the way back to late 2020, it's clear that Craft'd has been in the works for quite some time. The coffee shop officially opened for business at 333 1st Street SE on August 30th. To give you a better idea of where that is, it's located in the same building as Eastbank Venue in the space that was formerly home to Early Bird, a coffee shop that closed in March of 2020.

Craft'd serves coffee from Windmill Coffee Roasters, which is a small company based out of Ames, Iowa. You can buy the coffee freshly brewed by the cup, or you can purchase the beans to brew it yourself!

In addition to coffee, the shop also serves other beverages like smoothies, cand Lotus energy drinks, plus baked goods, breakfast, and, as of recently, lunch! There is no official menu posted online, but some of the items featured on social media include cereal bars, chicken salad sandwiches, BLTs, broccoli cheddar soup, avocado toast, mini cheesecakes, and cinnamon rolls. They even serve "Monster Balls," which were a favorite at Early Bird before they closed.

Craft'd is currently open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can get updates from the coffee shop on Facebook HERE.
