Customers who worry they are in danger of having their power cut off during the Coronavirus disaster because they can't pay got good news recently from Alliant Energy.

KCRG reports that the company is suspending the disconnection of delinquent accounts and waiving late fees for Iowa-based customers at this time. Alliant says they are taking this step to ensure the continuance of important utility service for its customers during this uncertain time.

This follows suit with another midwest utility company, MidAmerican Energy, who in addition to suspending disconnects and waiving late fees, will also keep in touch with customers to see who is under self-isolation so they can adjust their work as needed.
