Alan Jackson Announces New Tour, and Iowa Show
[UPDATED 7/16] This show has been postponed to September 11, 2021. All tickets will be honored.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Country Hall-of-Famer Alan Jackson will be embarking on a 2020 tour in January that begins in Cincinnati, Ohio and concludes in Denver, Colorado in October. He's doing only one show in Iowa but the date made me stop in my tracks when I saw it.
Jackson will perform at Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, September 11, 2020. That awful day, in 2001, is when al Qaeda attacked the U.S. killing nearly 3,000 people. For weeks, Alan Jackson knew he wanted to write a song about his emotions and thoughts. Then, on October 28, 2001, he woke up at 4 a.m. and wrote the song, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)." Eleven days later he performed it for the very first time on the CMA Awards. It's one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard.
Opening acts for Alan Jackson's 2020 tour haven't been announced. However, a press release makes reference to special guests and artists who've performed at AJ's Good Time Bar, Alan's bar in Nashville.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 13 and can be purchased at Hy-Veetix.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office, by phone at 844-55-HYVEE, or by visiting alanjackson.com/tour.
