Abercrombie & Fitch is Set to Make a Comeback in Iowa
Back in its hey-day, Abercrombie & Fitch was EVERYWHERE. When I was in middle school in the early 2000s, you weren't "cool" unless you owned a piece of Abercrombie clothing. I had exactly two shirts that were gifted to me by a relative, and I wore them constantly.
Abercrombie & Fitch used to have a couple of stores at Iowa malls, including Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville and Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines. According to the Des Moines Register, both of those stores closed in recent years. First at Jordan Creek in 2015, then at Coral Ridge in 2019. But, Abercrombie is set to return to one of those malls this fall!
The Des Moines Register reports that Abercrombie & Fitch will open a new store at Jordan Creek Town Center, this time on the lower level of the mall across from the Apple Store. The store will also have a section for their Abercrombie Kids line.
I think that many of us who remember Abercrombie & Fitch from our preteen and teen years will be surprised to learn that the brand has made a transformation over the past few years. An article from the Des Moines Register says, "Abercrombie started moving away from clothes branded with logos and invested in higher-quality fabrics. It began to offer a broader range of sizes." The brand is now geared more towards millennials, and is popular for its denim and dresses. You can read more about the company and check out the items they offer on the official website HERE.
