A Popular Cedar Rapids Lunch Spot is Opening a Second Location
NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids is getting a delicious new addition!
According to a new Facebook post, The Prairie Soup Company in downtown Cedar Rapids is going to be opening a second location inside NewBo City Market. The restaurant is currently a popular lunch destination for folks who work downtown, and I know that because I'm one of them! Prairie Soup is located at 425 2nd Street SE on the Skywalk level, which happens to be just a few floors below the radio station. I've eaten there literally hundreds of times over the course of the last 6-and-a-half years.
If you're not familiar with The Prairie Soup Company, they offer a variety of delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches. Their Facebook page says:
"Chow down on homemade fare that’s made in-house daily from The Prairie Soup Company. We take pride in offering made-from-scratch options that will make your taste buds sing."
My favorite menu items include the Broccoli Cheddar Soup, the Chicken Enchilada Soup, the Buffalo Chicken Panini, and the classic Caesar Salad. They also offer some pretty darn good breakfast burritos.
We don't know much about the NewBo location at this time, but the Facebook post from Prairie Soup says more details are on the way soon. It reads:
"It’s official! We are expanding our business to NewBo city market in downtown Cedar Rapids! The hours there are 10 am - 8 pm Thursday and Friday. 10 am - 6 pm Saturday. And Sunday 10 am - 4 pm. We will operate at our current location and NewBo! Stay tuned for more details."
In the meantime, The Prairie Soup Company is open at the 2nd Street location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can read more about the restaurant HERE.
