A New Corridor Business Sets Up Amazing Luxury Picnics [UPDATE]
Just yesterday, we threw a surprise Boujee Picnic for my best friend's birthday over at Robbins Lake! It was PERFECT and Carissa was so kind and helpful! We brought the pizza, breadsticks, and cupcakes, and they supplied everything else. Here are some photos of our set-up:
ORIGINAL STORY 9/27:
If you're looking for a unique date night or a fun way to celebrate a birthday, a luxury picnic might be right up your alley!
Over the weekend, I came across a photo on Instagram that got my attention. It was a photo of a picnic at a park here in the Corridor, but it wasn't just a blanket and a basket. This picnic included a big rug, a little wooden table, pillows, dishes, and décor. My first thought was, "wow, these folks really went all out!" But then I discovered that it was set up by a cool little business called Boujee Picnic.
Boujee Picnic is a new company in Eastern Iowa that creates "luxury picnics." The Facebook description reads:
"Luxury picnic business that serves Cedar Rapids and the Eastern Iowa area. Perfect for a date night, evening with friends and more. Let us upgrade your picnic and make it something magical!"
The business is run by a Cedar Rapids native named Carissa, also known as "the Picnic Lady." She wrote on Facebook that she has over five years of event planning experience and that she loves to create experiences for people.
If you book a Boujee Picnic, Carissa says that she will do ALL the work. The post reads:
I make things easy for you; I set-up and tear down and create that beautiful, boho picnic vibe; all you have to do is show up."
All picnics include set-up and tear down, a low table, dinnerware, pillows, table décor, a sign, a Bluetooth speaker, and more. A picnic for two will cost you $100 or $125 for three to four people, with additional add-ons that you can include. It looks like anniversaries and birthdays are the most popular occasions that people celebrate with Boujee Picnic. You can get more information on booking your picnic HERE.
